Microfibre and hygiene

A hygienic method requires more than a suitable cloth. The aim is to remove soil and prevent used textiles carrying contamination to the next area. Product, work sequence, cloth changes and processing form one system.

Cleaning and disinfection have different purposes

Cleaning removes soil from a surface. A visibly clean result alone does not demonstrate disinfection. Where a protocol requires disinfection, use the authorised product and the specified method, concentration and contact time.

A laboratory result applies to the tested product, method and conditions. A reduction percentage for one cloth does not guarantee the same outcome on every surface, for every operator or throughout a product family.

Define work zones and change points

Choose an understandable colour scheme for areas such as washrooms, kitchens and interiors. Do not assume colours have universal meanings: the organisation’s agreed system is decisive. Use the same scheme on trolleys and in storage.

Define when a cloth or mop is changed and where used textiles are collected. Move from clean preparation into the designated work zone and keep used materials separate from clean stock.

Make instructions verifiable

Check the product code, working protocol and care instructions together. Train staff with the actual textile and holder. Review preparation, work sequence and handling of used textiles as well as the final result.
